The snow arrived late yesterday, although Lici's school is only 25 minutes away it was lovely sunshine there and Lici enjoyed the playpark and snowfall at home. Lici was so excited to see snow and was straight outside playing in it, we don’t get that much snow where we live so it is always a treat.
We got the chance to make a snow family, albeit miniature ones! As we write this reflection of our past week, there is still a light covering on the ground with a little more forecast through the day.

Last weekend and a couple of evenings this week there has been more work on the ensuite, with the shower tray now in place, shelves up and tiling begun, plus some pipework in ready for the shower. It will be another busy weekend, hopefully nearing the finish and get the shower and ensuite working. We have learned so much over the years that the ensuite might be one of our best rooms, taking all the learnings from our various projects and giving us a really lovely room!
Teddy has been helping Mum in the shop this week, leaving his signature on the walls, interestingly very similar to those left by Lici a couple of years ago. The shop will have its Christmas facelift in the coming week ready for December and the run up to Christmas, plus getting ready for the local town Christmas Market.
The salon de thé produced the most wonderful trifles that can be taken away – they didn’t last long back at home!!!

Lici had her parents evening this week and it is so heartwarming to see her progress in her early years at school, especially how well she is speaking French and making friends. All was good on her evening and we had a lovely treat afterwards to a lovely burger restaurant in the town, they make the most amazing burgers all with fresh beef ingredients.

The fire is well and truly on 24/7 now in the house to keep the heat within the thick walls, plus there is more time spent inside as the nights have drawn in – we even found a use for the cardboard from the shower tray packaging for “hot wheels” and a town for all the cars – not sure who had the most fun, but Daddy seemed to have fun!

I (Phil) have been working on a change of business status in France to become an Enterprise Individuelle, which is similar to a sole trader in the UK – the key difference is being able to claim business expenses rather than the simpler system in France which has a fixed rate charge, more of that in due course with a separate piece on business set ups in France.
